It has occurred to me that some people are just not really going to use more than Sun sign astrology simply because that’s as deep as they really can or care to go into the understanding of others.
Are there advantages to using only Sun sign astrology? In what situations?

I want to do my chart, but I was born in the district of columbia so my hospital doesn’t have my birth time(neither does my birth certificate). The advantages of using only sun sign astrology is that it helps some stay connected or feel a part of a group with similar, although limited interests.
Some people look up their sun sign and if it fits them then that is as far as they will go into it. On the other hand some people will look up their sun sign and it doesn’t really fit them and they discount astrology all together. In the latter situation it would be necessary to look deeper in to the chart. Most people who understand astrology as a whole don’t think JUST sun signs tell you much of anything. For people who are more instant gratification that is all they will ever know or care to know.
For me ; just the sun sign doesn’t say much about the person
The advantage of sun signs is the introduction to astrology. That is it! It can give us a taste of the astrological world, yet, it can become very misleading. I use to know Linda Goodman, when she wrote her books it was not an astrologers delight. However, her sun signs, and love signs were the best selling books in astrology. Maybe nowadays, Rob Hands book Transits might come in a close 2nd. She did not write those books to help astrologers, but did want to entice the general public. And that was her success. Sadly, she never truly benefited from it all before her passing. After the book star signs, she truly was going to write something that astrologer may sink their teeth into. Sun signs enables that furry of discovery, but it is only the book cover. The real messages are in the book.
