some rappers have homophobic references in their lyrics. then all of a sudden they get ‘outed’ some rumors fly and they’re exposed as gay. could they be going it purposely to prove a point about homophobia? as in people who make homophobic remarks are closeted gays? as in instead of stating so make a remark in the lyrics, and then come out or be outed? they never seem to be angry when it happens either.

While a significant amount of songs do contain homophobic material, I believe when rappers express such homophobia, many “go-with-the-flow,” as the same rappers can be seen happily taking pictures and such with known gay celebrities, an Eminem for example. Homophobic remarks are commonly used as jokes or insults, even when the individual insulting or joking on the other has no true animosity against homosexuals. However, that doesn’t disprove of actual homophobia in Rap. As for celebrities getting outed by some rumor, I doubt many are true anyway. Which rappers are gay, by the way?
