I made a movie with my friends. I finished editing it, and when I watch it on my computer screen it fits perfectly. So I burned it to DVD so i could watch it on a television, but now the image is cut off on the left or right side. Then when i take it to a different television to try it it’s still cut off on either side, but by a different amount.
Now, when I watch a professional DVD, it says “this film has been formatted to fit your tv”. I basically want to know how to do that. So that when I switch from tv to tv it won’t be cut off. Also, I’m using Windows DVD Maker to burn it. So if you could tell me how to do it with that program it would be even better.

Before you burn a movie, you have to use a standard TV aspect ratio that comes in all video production software. The common ratio for TV’s is 4:3.
WARNING: Don’t play the off screen DVD on you TV again. It will damage your TV. Chances are, you might have already caused some damage to it already that will cut short your TV’s life.
