This is a problem im having with my ipod touch 3rd Gen on 4.2.1 when trying to enter DFU mode on Greenpois0n. What i personally think the problem is because of the ipod being connected to the computer and charging. Because when i try to put it in DFU mode without it being plugged into the computer it works perfectly just like what the greenpoison tells you to do. If you can help me solve this problem that would be very great and i would give you 5 subs and put you in my channels sub box. Plz help, any questions plz ask in comments below.

i jailbroke it once with redsn0w yet tried to restore it after that my iphone somehow couldnt restore please help me!
Leave the ipod alone ( in DFU mode) and push prepare but dont do anything until it says jailbreak
@zombienation666 Yeah I can’t get dfu mode using 2g 4.2.1.
It’s not working on my friend’s 3g either, but this kid is doing it wrong anyways… If it took a pic, that means he let go of the home button, and if it went to the search, he did it again. Hold the home button firmly and do not let go… Do it while it is on- NOT while the iOS is loading… But regardless, my friend’s just shuts off while holding the home and sleep button on the 3g for some reason. anyone have the answer?
@camaroman34
how did u do it thnx
exact same problem…HELP!!!
ahahahaha my ipod 3g 4.2.1 worked ahahaha fail to you all that didnt work
@camaroman34 WOW IT WORKED LOL THNK U VERY MUCH!!!! URE A LEGEND.
@Hollowcashmoney You dont have to have it off to go into DFU mode….so when you see the screen on your ipod say “slide to power off”….Hold down the Home button and the Power button simutaneously, until the screen goes black and the device turns off. Now let go of the Power button, but continue to hold the Home button for about 12-14 seconds….I don’t know if it’ll work for you but it definitely worked for me.
@camaroman34 can u be more spacific on this? i dont get the “”"So I held the power until the “slide to power off” screen show up then let go. Then as the itouch is on that screen that’s when I begin the DFU mode. “”" part becuase dont u have to have it off to go into DFU and not just on the “slide to power off” screen and what do you meen by ” The itouch is on that screen “???
hey @fireflasher361
I recently jailbroke my cousin’s Ipod touch 3rd Gen on 4.2.1 and what worked for me was that I had the ipod touch connected to the computer. So I held the power until the “slide to power off” screen show up then let go. Then as the itouch is on that screen that’s when I begin the DFU mode. If that doesn’t work, hold the power and home button then let go of the power button right before the apple screen pops up (timing is crucial)…hope that helps
Based on what I’ve seen, it has to do with the Ituneshelper.exe process.
Every time I open GP with Itunes opened, it closes Itunes. Also two command prompts open and close stating some type of error with Itunes helper. can’t read it since it opens and closes real quick.
hope this helps.
same problem here cant get dfu mode using 4.2.1 3g iphone
