There is a jailbreak out now by using redsn0w but it is a tethered jailbreak which means you have to connect your device to a computer and run redsn0w everytime you have to reboot your device.

4.2 + cannot be jailbroken. Only 4.1 and below can. Cydia says so.
Look up on YouTube how to downgrade to 4.1.
Then go on the website through your iTouch called “jailbreakme.com” to have it jailbreak for you without using any computer software like limera1n.

If it works it would be fine, I have a ipod touch 2gn mc model and its 4.0.1 and it will not do the jail break on jailbreakme.com because it says my model is to new and I need to downgrade to something lower than my 4.0.1
